How to create and upload a gift card design

You can upload some default artwork that applies to all the items you sell. You can also upload overriding artwork on a per-item basis as well.

We do not currently support the ability for your customers to choose a design when buying a gift card. This is so that we can keep the checkout experience simple and reduce the work you have to do when setting up your Gift Up! account.

You can change the designs you upload to Gift Up! as often as you like and it will not affect old gift card sales as we store the artwork standard with the gift card at the time of sale. This means that if you want to upload seasonal gift card artwork, you can without fear that it affects previous gift card orders.

How to upload default gift card artwork

Head over to https://giftup.app/settings/gift-cards in the dashboard, choose the "Artwork" tab and upload your new artwork. This will apply to all future gift cards you sell and is what gets shown in your checkout.

How to upload different artwork for the items you sell

Sometimes you want to provide artwork for each item you sell, or perhaps for certain specific items.

To do this, head over to the item you want to upload alternative artwork for, edit it and upload alternative artwork.

Then, when your customers select this item in your checkout, they will see the artwork change in real-time and it will be used in the gift card they ultimately purchase.

Our gift card design requirements

We require a specific format for your gift card artwork:

  • Format: PNG, GIF or JPG
  • Size: 575 pixels wide by 385 pixels high. You can provide higher resolution than this, but we recommend keeping the aspect ratio similar.

We highly recommend using Canva to design your gift cards. They have a huge template library for gift cards and we accept the exact size that Canva produces for their gift cards.

To download your gift card design from Canva, follow these instructions.
